I have been reading the Bible every day since January 1, 2016. I have been following a calendar on the website below, if I continue following this calendar. I will have read the entire Bible in a year. I am so thankful that I am able to listen and follow the Bible through this website.
I am very excited to share something very special with all of you, a behind-the-scenes look at how we celebrate our favorite night of the year.
It all starts with the Oscar ballot my mom, my sister and I fill out our own ballot. My mom then makes a book containing lots of interesting facts about the Oscars from years past, including our Oscar ballot.
The excitement continues to build as the event gets closer and closer, then that day is finally here! Decorations are hung in the living room, the fine China is set.
I love getting all dressed up in evening wear. I feel like I am in a fairytale.
The hors d’oeuvres are prepared along with the main menu consisting of a salad, crawfish fettuccine, and for dessert, my personal favorite banana pudding.
The 88th annual Oscar awards ceremony marks our 11th annual private celebration of the movie industry between my mom, Carolyn, my sister, Jamie and I. I love the fact that our love of movies has turned into something special for the three of us to share.
Did I mention that we are also very competitive? We keep track of how many categories we guessed correctly. Whoever wins gets bragging rights for the year, this year mom Carolyn wins with nine Jamie guessed eight and I guessed seven. They have twenty-four Categories; sometimes we are on the same page as the Academy other times we are way off.
I want to say thank you to my mom for making Oscar night, so much fun every year. She does an incredible job putting everything together.
