God’s word: moving forward

Verse of the Day

“Whenever this happens, my heart stops— I’m stunned, I can’t catch my breath. Listen to it! Listen to his thunder, the rolling, rumbling thunder of his voice. He lets loose his lightnings from horizon to horizon, lighting up the earth from pole to pole. In their wake, the thunder echoes his voice, powerful and majestic. He lets out all the stops, he holds nothing back. No one can mistake that voice— His word thundering so wondrously, his mighty acts staggering our understanding. He orders the snow, ‘Blanket the earth!’ and the rain, ‘Soak the whole countryside!’ No one can escape the weather—it’s there. And no one can escape from God. Wild animals take shelter, crawling into their dens, When blizzards roar out of the north and freezing rain crusts the land. It’s God’s breath that forms the ice, it’s God’s breath that turns lakes and rivers solid. And yes, it’s God who fills clouds with rainwater and hurls lightning from them every which way. He puts them through their paces—first this way, then that— commands them to do what he says all over the world. Whether for discipline or grace or extravagant love, he makes sure they make their mark.

Job 37:5-6 MSG

To remind you I do not pick the verse of the day, I take it from different sources.  Lately I’ve been taking from my newest favorite website https://www.biblegateway.com/ I love visiting different websites dedicated to the Bible.

Today is day 37 of the rest of my life.  I am continuing on with the book of Psalms.  I’ll be happy when it’s over, no offense to the Old Testament, but there are only a few books that have kept my attention.

Monday was day 36 of my workout routine.  Monday was the hardest day I’ve ever had.  I wasn’t sick, but I just felt blah.  That’s the best way I can describe it.

How many of you heard about the Grand Theater opening up next Thursday?  I’m excited for them.  God bless them for wanting to move forward, I love going to movies as much as possible.  I was watching an interview given by Mayci Breaux’s family her mom to be exact.  As she was talking about trying to move forward and some days being harder than others, I just felt my emotions rise up to the surface.  July 23, 2015 started off as a normal day for many of us in and around Lafayette, Louisiana.  By the end of the night we were shaken, not knowing why and who would do such a thing.  I have to say I am proud to be a lifelong resident of the state of Louisiana.  When somebody laughs, we all laugh when somebody cries we all cry when somebody hurts, we all hurt in the end we all come together and hold each other up in prayer.  We lend a helping hand, because we are city strong.

We have to move forward, however, I hope that we never forget jillian Johnson and Mayci Breaux and those affected by July 23, 2015.
